Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while residents in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with problems to water systems, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while officials has demanded "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the G7 - in supplying defensive weapons and implementing restrictions," he wrote in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and more than 30 missiles attacked energy facilities, characterizing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were laboring to restore power.

A series of attacks hit power facilities and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, according to municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the city came under intense attacks overnight. A young boy died and three other people were injured.

The strikes follow evenings of aerial attacks in the territory, parts of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Moscow was intentionally trying to demolish the national power system, with strikes already impacting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and authorities were bracing for further attacks.
