Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, demons, and sinister influences increasing in strength within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of characters who will split off from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the other two tables.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (played by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
Hence, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Introduction, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where diplomatic options are rare.
Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might look unsuited, but the events of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the group understands precisely where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and advises that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could enable the team reach locations they normally couldn’t.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a life debt to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in quest for Casimir.
Future Episodes
Based on the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight cast members to assemble the Explorers and Schemers parties.
Audiences can anticipate finding out which players will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on the upcoming Thursday.
